Officials from the Swaffham and Litcham Home Hospice have thanked the organisers of a charity bingo evening which raised hundreds of pounds for the cause.

The session, which was held at the Narborough village hall last month, was organised by Christine and Peter Howard and raised a total of £531.

The money has now been presented to hospice staff, who paid tribute to the support shown by local people.

Co-ordinator Debbie Hanwell said: “Our services are provided free of charge to patients, their families and carers and, although we are part funded by the NHS, in order to maintain this support, we rely on the loyal support and generous donations of the local community to raise the further £100,000 required each year.

“Therefore, we are very grateful to receive this generous donation from Christine and Peter and to everyone that took part in the evening.”
