Offal spillage closes A47 near Swaffham
Motorists are being warned to expect delays after a shed load of offal shut the A47 this afternoon.
Drivers are being advised to take alternative routes via Fakenham and Mundford to avoid the blockage, between the A1065 junction at Swaffham and the A1075 turning on the edge of Dereham.
Highways England says contractors are on their way to the scene to clear up the spillage.
Drivers heading eastbound are being advised to leave the A47 at Swaffham to follow the A1065 to its junction with the A148 at Fakenham.
They are then advised to follow the A1067, A140 and A1074 to rejoin the A47.
Westbound traffic is being advised to divert along the A11 from Norwich to Thetford before joining the A134 to Mundford, where they can join the A1065.
