Have your say

I hope that you all had a great Easter and didn’t over-indulge with the chocolate. Sadly I am unable to say the same thing about myself. I’ve always been a bit of a choc-o-holic and I always give in to temptation way too easily at this time of year which means that KL.FM’s managing director is currently looking a little, shall we say, chunky.

And while I’m on the subject of Easter and chocolate, this is a great opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave an Easter egg to our appeal.

Once again the generosity of our listeners has been overwhelming and we have been able to hand out literally hundreds of eggs to underprivileged children in and around King’s Lynn. I’ve always thought that KL.FM has an obligation to be more than just a radio station and our Easter Egg appeal is a classic example of this.April will be a busy month for me because I’ll be doing the interviews for a new programme controller. Adam Newstead has left some big boots to fill but I’m sure we can find someone out there who can continue the great work he did while he was with us.

I’m certainly not short of applicants...at last count I’d had almost 80 applications which certainly shows just how attractive KL.FM (and Lynn) is as a place to work.

Away from the office I’ve been down into the town centre several times to enjoy the Lynn Lumiere light show. I saw something similar when I was on holiday in France several years and I think the project here is a great success.

I hope it succeeds in bringing more visitors to the town and I think it will.

And of course, once they’re here they will quickly realise what a special place this is.

My sister in law visited us last week from London and was really impressed by the scale and the quality of the project.

She’s used to seeing everything London has to offer but she thought it was one of the most interesting things she had seen in a long time.

Finally for now, a bit of a plea for help.

One of the things I enjoy most about this time of year is that loads of car boot sales spring up around our area.

A good Sunday morning car boot sale is one of the few things that I don’t mind setting my alarm for at the weekend. But, if you see me wandering around any of them and I look tempted by the boxes of paperback books that inevitably almost every stall will have, please stop me.

I think I might be developing a bit of a problem because my house is literally overflowing with books and there’s no space left for any more.

Point me in the direction of plants or anything for the garden but please steer me away from the books.
