Tea party at Foulden Village Hall raises funds for breast cancer awareness

Organisers of a charity tea party couldn’t thank businesses and friends enough for their support for breast cancer awareness.

On Sunday, Danielle Grief and Tracey Keilty organised the event to raise money for breast cancer charities at Foulden Village Hall.

They raised £1,060, while also reopening the village hall bar and raising £100 to put back into its facilities.

Those who were involved said what a great time they had.

Danielle said she was “overwhelmed and emotional” by the community's support – and said “nothing has been too much of an ask”.

She said the event was “phenomenal” and she was “forever grateful” for the support of the community and local businesses.

Danielle and Tracey originally set out a goal to give back to the community and raise funds for a cause very close to their hearts. They held their first fundraiser last year, and were delighted with its success.

And on Sunday, 84 raffle prizes were supplied and cakes were all baked by the community while following Natasha’s Law – a law created to protect people with food allergies who rely on the transparency of ingredients.

Diet alternatives were taken into consideration, while Love Bug Balloons generously supplied balloons for the event at no cost.

It was clear that the event impacted a lot of people and many were left touched.

Danielle says she will carry on to organise more events like this in the future as raising awareness for breast cancer means a lot to both her and Tracey.

“There was a strength shared in the hearts of those who have lost a loved one or have battled breast cancer themselves as it may be a success story or loss,” said Danielle.

Danielle and Tracy added that they are grateful and amazed by everyone’s contributions.
