Swaffham Town Council hosts Remembrance Day parade, featuring Fakenham Town Band and war veterans
Community groups, bands and emergency services congregated for a Remembrance Day parade in Swaffham.
The town’s council organised the event, which involved a march around the centre led by Fakenham Town Band.
War veterans and crews from RAF Marham were part of the parade, joining representatives from the community police force and fire service.
Cadets and Brownies also took part, with the service culminating in a two-minute silence at the war memorial by the Market Square.
Jacob Reeder, constituency assistant to MP Liz Truss, handed over a wreath on the former prime minister’s behalf.
A handwritten note from Ms Truss honouring the occasion was laid at the memorial.
Cllr Stewart Bell, mayor of the town council said: “We’ve had a lot of emails to say how well it went.
“We had a slight change in where the wreath laying was done, and it worked so much better.”
