A new path could be linking Downham with Stow Bridge if a project comes to fruition.
Downham Town Council is looking at ways to make more of the riverside and to increase tourism.
During a meeting on Tuesday, councillors agreed to conduct further research into possibly creating a path between Hythe Bridge and Stow Bridge.
Councillors will be looking for grants along with contacting the Environment Agency.
The meeting also saw the co-option of four new councillors to fill vacancies.
Yvonne Thompson will be representing the north ward with Karen Everitt for the east. Mark Brown and Barry Hobbs will be representing south ward.
The vacancies were created by retirements prior to May’s elections.
