A 76-year-old West Norfolk driver who triggered a speed camera was found to have had his licence revoked three years earlier.

Thomas Welfare was clocked doing 38mph on Gayton Road in Lynn – a 30mph zone.

At the town’s magistrates’ court on Thursday, prosecutor Katharine Kibrya-Dean said: “Admissions to speeding were accepted by Mr Welfare by post. It was later noted that his licence had expired.
