Road closure planned on A149 between Holkham and Burnham Overy Staithe for essential repairs
Work is to start this month on essential road repairs on stretch of a busy coastal road.
Starting on Monday, February 10, the work will be carried out in phases along the A149 between Holkham and Burnham Overy Staithe and the road will be closed.
Norfolk County Council the first phase is expected to last for five days, weather permitting, for resurfacing.
“To minimise disruption on this busy section of the network, we are carrying out the work in two phases. Phase one will take place on Monday, February 10 to Wednesday, February 12, and will take place on the A149 between Burnham Overy Staite and the junction with the B1155.
“Phase two will take place on Thursday, February 13 and Friday, February 14 and will take place on the A149 between Holkham and the junction with the B1155.
“During the works, access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times to our best ability. A fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the duration of the works. The County Council thanks people for their patience while this carriageway maintenance work is carried out and we apologise for any disturbance caused by the works.”
The work which will cost £150,000 will be carried out by the council’s infrastructure department and its contractors.
