Phew, it's another scorcher, day after West Norfolk let hair down

It's going to be hot, hot, hot again today following yesterday's scorcher that saw people flocking to the coast and other beauty spots.

Yesterday the beaches at Hunstanton and Heacham were packed as people enjoyed the sunshine.

But it was the sort of scenes that led people to question whether people are already abandoning social distancing ahead of the lockdown loosening further on July 4.

There were also many visitors to be found out at Bawsey Pits and as our pictures captured by photographer Ian Burt show many ignored notices to go into the water, regarded as potentially highly dangerous to swimmers.

In town, plenty of people were to be found in the parks, including at The Walks in Lynn.

The mercury is expected to rise to 28C in West Norfolk today. But it comes with a UV rating of 8 which means there is a very high chance of sunburn, so take care.

And enjoy the sunshine while you can. There is a yellow weather warning in force for tomorrow from the Met Office for thunderstorms.
