Dominos could be coming to Downham Market as chain seeks planning permission to change use of former funeral directors’ premises




A pizza chain is hoping to open a new branch at a former funeral directors in Downham.

Dominos Pizza wants to take over the premises on Bridge Street in the town centre and is in the process of seeking planning permission.

A planning application states it would offer a takeaway service which would operate on the ground floor of the building.

The building was previously used by funeral directors A J Coggles, which has sinced relocated to another premises on the same street.

In the early stages of the application, Norfolk County Council Highways has not raised any objections to the plans.

It comes as Dominos is also set to open a new branch in Swaffham next Monday.

A Dominos spokesperson said the company was unable to comment on the Downham plans at this stage.
