Planning committee votes to raise no objection to proposals for Heacham Recycling Centre

West Norfolk Council’s planning committee will raise no objection to a Norfolk County Council application to change the use of Heacham Recycling Centre.

The committee heard of the proposals at its meeting yesterday which will allow the disposal of trade waste at the site at Millennium Wood, in conjunction with the existing household waste, and in addition to the installation of a reuse shop, and the ancillary small-scale sale of non-recycled items.

The proposals would also see the centre operate Monday to Sunday from 7am to 6pm all year round.

The application had been called in by Terry Parish, who said the parish council had not been made aware of the proposals and so had not had the opportunity to discuss them, despite the fact it leases the land to the county council.

The committee voted to raise no objection to the plans for Heacham Recycling Centre.
