Stoke Ferry in line for 29 new homes and new village hall car park
If plans to build 29 new homes in the heart of Stoke Ferry get the green light, the village will also get a new car parking area.
Part of the deal for Freebridge Community Housing's proposals is providing a new parking space at the village hall.
Freebridge owns the site between Bramcote House and the village hall and its application to West Norfolk Council asks permission for a selection of homes to be built including a number of affordable units.
There will be one, two, three and four bedroom properties and a terraced block which will be the focal point of the development and will be inspired by the listed Pineapple Coach House just to the east of the site.
Freebridge is also working with the village hall committee to create a new car park with 23 spaces for the hall.
The housing provider owns the 1.1 hectare site which has previously had planning approval for 29 homes. Earthworks and drainage were completed before work started and site has been vacant and overgrown ever since.
The village hall committee is making its own separate plans for improvements to the hall but the Freebridge proposals, as well as the car park, will create a new access and a better fire exit.
