Plans have now been submitted to build a £4.5 million water sludge treatment facility.

Anglian Water has now formally submitted a planning application to Norfolk County Council to construction of a sludge cake reception facility at the Lynn Water Recycling Centre in Clockcase, Clenchwarton.

The application’s planning statement says the project would maximise capacity.

The statement said: “Given the extensive screening and given the proposed developments context against existing buildings within the WRC operational boundary, it is considered that there will be a negligible impact upon landscape and visual amenity. The proposed development will not increase the average operational traffic numbers per day visiting the site or result in additional vehicle movements.”

Norfolk county councillor Alexander Kemp said; “The construction of the new sludge cake reception plant simply can’t go ahead, unless Anglian Water provides an improved road.”
