A new firm of undertakers could be moving into Lynn if plans are given the green light.
Central England Co-operative Society has applied for permission to create a funeral home in an empty building Wootton Road, Gaywood.
A change of use planning application has been lodged with West Norfolk Council.
The building has previously been used as a pet supplier and dog grooming business but has also been used for car sales.
The society wants to convert the original main showroom into an office, reception, arrangement rooms and chapel.
The application also proposes to sublet one area of the building and adding new shop fronts and garage doors.
The application’s design and access statement says: “The proposed development will benefit the local community in providing funeral home facilities.
“The proposal will provide employment opportunities in Lynn.
“The proposal will retain and upgrade an existing building.
“Therefore the property will remain a useful community asset and will not fall into disrepair and dilapidation.”
