Plans for holiday caravans at former nursery in Tilney All Saints

Plans have been submitted to convert “redundant” plant nursery land into a holiday spot with eight caravans.

The application is seeking permission to make use of land at the former Duncans Nursery on Lynn Road in Tilney All Saints, which is currently described as an “overgrown waste area” with unused buildings and glass houses.

Documents say that the holiday park would create job opportunities for grounds keepers and gardeners, while “nature elements will be retained” to boost biodiversity.

A design and access statement produced by Alexandra Design says: “Access to the site and the building has been carefully planned to accommodate all users, including those with disabilities.

“The proposed development at Duncans Nursery, Lynn Road is thoughtfully designed to integrate with its surroundings, provide functional spaces for its users, and ensure accessibility for all.”

Oddly, the application’s tourism statement makes numerous references to Covid restrictions, describing quarantine rules as though they are still in force today.

It also talks about preparing for “this summer”, likely referring to the summer of 2020.

The plans are currently out for consultation.
