King's Lynn & West Norfolk mayor celebrates Platinum Jubilee by unveiling plaque at North Wootton of the Queen's Green Canopy




The borough mayor unveiled a plaque at North Wootton of The Queen's Green Canopy celebrating the Platinum Jubilee 2022.

Councillor Lesley Bambridge, visited staff and residents from Wyndham House Care Home in the village, plus parish councillors were in attendance.

She also helped plant one of the many trees in the village, along with North Wootton parish councillor and chair of Wootton Park Association, Will Border.

The plaque dedicated seven trees – one for each decade of Her Majesty's reign – to the Queen's Green Canopy on Cranmer Avenue.

The mayor tried out a new bench which was draped in a Union flag with Dennis Blackmore, chairman of North Wootton Village Hall management committee.

A £3,000 National Lottery Community Fund award plus £200 from the Norfolk Community Foundation were secured to go towards this project and the other Platinum Jubilee activities around the Woottons including the beacon lighting.
