Police alerted after dog walker spots mannequin 'prank' in West Norfolk countryside

Police in West Norfolk were alerted when what appears to have been a prank was mistaken for a far more grizzly discovery.

Details have been revealed today of an incident at Wretton where a dog walker reported what they described as a "suspicious item."

But officers were relieved to find that what appeared to be a body sticking out of a hedge wasn't so sinister after all.

The post on the King's Lynn Police Twitter feed said anyone who was "missing a set of mannequin legs after being creative" would find them at Downham's police station.

It added: "No two days are ever the same in our job. Following a call from a dog walker reporting a suspicious item in #Wretton we were pleased to see this was not as reported."
