Police are appealing for witnesses to this morning’s (Friday, August 7) crash on the A47 at Middleton
A DAF lorry, travelling eastbound, was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, who had been walking in the opposite direction, just before 8.40am.
The man, believed to be in his 80s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with injuries including broken ribs and a fractured skull.
The road was closed until around 12.15pm to allow police and ambulance to attend the scene.
An ambulance crew, ambulance officer and the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or believes they saw a pedestrian in the area prior to the collision.
