Police given more time to question men held in Downham murder inquiry
Detectives have been given more time to question two men arrested on suspicion of murder following a disturbance in Downham on Sunday night.
The pair were detained after a 39-year-old man was found with serious head injuries at a house in Bulrush Avenue in the town.
The man was treated by both police and paramedics, but was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later today.
Norfolk Police said a short time ago that a 47-year-old man, who was detained at the scene, and a 22-year-old man who was detained later in Paradise Road, remain in custody.
The pair will be questioned again today.
Last night, the force confirmed officers had also been given more time to question a 44-year-old detained on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a young woman in a separate incident in West Winch on Sunday.
