Police investigating attack on woman at Billy Ocean concert at Royal Sandringham Estate

Police are investigating an assault on a woman at a concert at the weekend.

Officers are looking into reports that a man attacked a woman at the Billy Ocean open-air event on the Royal Sandringham Estate on Saturday.

The incident is alleged to have happened towards the end of the event at around 11pm.

A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said it was a “serious” attack, with another man who intervened also being assaulted.

“I was a witness to this, as were many other attendees, including families with children,” they added.

The person claimed the event was “understaffed”, in particular in the area of security.

Live Promotions, who organised the event, and the Sandringham estate have both been contacted for comment.

In an email – seen by the Lynn News – sent to the witness, Live Promotions said it wanted to assure them that it provides the “very best security on site at all times for everyone’s safety”.

It comes ahead of further concerts taking place at the estate in August, when Robbie Williams and The Who will be performing, with these events organised by Heritage Live.

Police said enquiries are ongoing.
