Police are continuing to monitor illegal parking around a West Norfolk beauty spot amid fears it may be causing a danger to the public.

Last week, borough council officials revealed that staff were issuing up to 30 tickets a day to motorists flouting the rules around Bawsey Pits.

Now, police have been urged to act on the issue after concerns were raised on social media that the situation around Bawsey and nearby Leziate was becoming "dangerous."

A post on the King's Lynn Police Twitter feed responded: "We are aware of the situation and are working with our partner agencies to address the issues surrounding this area. This will be ongoing throughout the year."

The B1145, which passes Bawsey Pits, is classified as a clearway, meaning that parking is not allowed either on the road or the grass verges alongside it.
