Police probe launched after Tilney All Saints crash victim remained undiscovered for nearly seven hours

Have your say

An investigation has been launched after a man who was seriously injured in a crash on the A47 remained undiscovered in his vehicle for almost seven hours afterwards.

Emergency crews were called to a stretch of the road near Tilney All Saints at around 5.30am on Tuesday after a green Peugeot 206 was spotted in a ditch.

However, police believe the car originally left the road at around 10.45pm the previous evening.

The injured man is thought to have remained inside the car throughout the period until it was found.

He was taken to Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious chest injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers say they now want to hear from anyone who may have seen the car, or how it was being driven, prior to the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Norfolk Police serious collision investigation team, via the non-emergency 101 number.
