Police in Lynn have warned drivers to be vigilant following a spate of thefts from cars in recent weeks.

Twelve vehicles have been broken into across the area over the past month.

Items including satellite navigation systems, mobile phones, cameras and handbags, which had been left on display, were among the property stolen in the incidents.

PC Daniel Edwards, of the Lynn police safer neighbourhood team, said: “We have not seen too many crimes of this type for quite a while now and I would like it to stay that way.

“We desperately need the help of owners to consider the security of their vehicle’s and contents.”

Motorists are again being urged not to leave items on display when they leave their vehicles and to consider improved security measures, such as alarms and electronic immobilisers.

Anyone who has witnessed a theft or who has information about one should contact PC Edwards via the non-emergency 101 number (calls cost 15p).
