Buttercups Pre-School at North Runcton hosts Platinum Jubilee lunch party
Buttercups Pre-School at North Runcton hosted a Platinum Jubilee lunch party on Wednesday.
Buttercups, which offers pre-schooling to children aged from two to five, held the lunch in advance because it will be closed over the long bank holiday weekend next week.
Some 20 children and five staff took part.
Manager Sue Fuller said: "They dressed up in red, white and blue and some came as princes or princesses.
"They learned all about the royal family, especially with the local connection with Sandringham.
"We've been doing quite a lot about it, naming Buckingham Palace and things like that, bringing in the 70 years and what it means."
The children were busy making crowns, decorating tablecloths in red, white and blue and fashioning 'stamp bunting' with The Queen's head as it would appear on a stamp in red and blue using stencils.
The youngsters also learned to sing the national anthem which they performed before they sat down to lunch.
Buttercups mainly takes in children from the West Winch area, but also from the likes of Terrington St John, Wormegay and Grimston.
