Prince Andrew makes surprise appearance at Royal Family's Christmas Day church service and walkabout in Sandringham
The Duke of York made a surprise appearance at the royal family’s traditional Christmas Day church service in Sandringham this morning.
Prince Andrew has been stripped of duties following his part in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and, although it was known he was staying at Sandringham, many thought he would not attend the service and walkabout at St Mary Magdalene Church.
The Duke also lost military affiliations and patronages in the wake of a sex scandal involving a 17-year-old American girl. He denied the allegations but letter made an out of court sttlement with his accuser, reportedly of £12million.
The settlement is not an admission of guilt and the Prince denies any wrongdoing
It was the first time the Royal Family has spent Christmas at Sandringham House since 2019, when Andrew avoided making a public appearance and attended a private church service at the chapel at 9am with the late Queen.
