After getting promoted into the Shield Premier Division of the Mid Norfolk Sunday Cricket League, Swaffham got their season off to a strong start.

On Sunday they played Norwich at Ingham, with a few of the Norwich players also playing in the East Anglian Premier League.

Norwich elected to bat first, with Swaffham managing to put in a strong bowling and fielding performance (two run outs).

Swaffham bowled Norwich out for 170: three wickets for David Annakin, two for Jasper Payne.

Swaffham then managed to knock the runs off only losing six wickets.

The pick of the batting was Mark Eagle 85 and Michael Dye 35.
