Holly Meadows Primary School in Pott Row celebrates after being rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in all areas
A West Norfolk primary school has been rated ‘good’ in all areas following its latest Ofsted inspection.
Holly Meadows Primary School in Pott Row is celebrating after receiving the good news from the education watchdog.
Jennie Wildsmith-Garton, head teacher at the school, says staff are “proud and delighted” with the findings in the report.
She said: “We are especially pleased that the inspection team describe us as a ‘warm and friendly community’ and that ‘the school culture emphasises the importance of being calm, polite and patient’.
“Improvements in our school curriculum are clearly recognised, along with our dedicated focus on reading, writing and mathematics.
“As a school with mixed age classes we work hard to adapt the curriculum, avoid repetition and keep our content current and relevant to our children’s needs. Inspectors noted that we have increased our focus on knowledge and ensured that the curriculum is well-sequenced.”
Terry Kivlin, chair of the school’s governors, said: “I am pleased that the inspectors recognise the good work being done in the school and have noted the only areas to improve had been identified by the head teacher before the inspection.
“We will continue to address these. Holly Meadows is a good school and I would like to thank all the staff, parents, pupils and my fellow governors for their contribution to make it so.”
