Tilney All Saints Coach and Horses pub family funday fundraiser for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for premature baby Grace
A pub’s family event has raised money for a hospital unit that helped a couple and their baby.
Landlords at the Coach and Horses, Tilney All Saints, held a classic vehicle and family fun day on Saturday in aid of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in Lynn.
Paul Scandrett and John Stubbs run the pub and organised the event on behalf of Freddy and Chloe Gordon, whose baby Grace was born prematurely.
Customers came along to the event and the total raised was £965 which will be presented to NICU.
Mr Scandrett said: “Our friend’s daughter Chloe had the baby about nine to 10 weeks early and was in hospital in the NICU at QEH.
“There was a bouncy castle for the kids, all-day barbecue, a band called Bar Six in the garden and a bucket collection for loose change.”
The event had been a month in its planning with classic cars, motorbikes and trucks on show.
Mr Scandrett said: “It was very-well attended and very hot.
“Thanks to the people for coming along and supporting the cause.
“Baby Grace only weighed 2Ibs and now weighs 8Ibs and she is thriving now.
“It was a brilliant day and we have given the funds to Chloe for her to pass on to NICU.”
