Gayton Crown Pub officially opens new children’s play area following £125,000 investment

A new play area has been installed in a pub garden following funding from a kind donor who wishes to remain anonymous.

Landlady Charlotte Borley and landlord Lewis Petch manage The Crown at Gayton where the play area was officially opened on Friday.

Youngsters from the Gayton Goslings day centre in the village helped to unveil the new playground and tested it out.

Miss Borley said: “We had an initial £125,000 investment in January into the pub and, listening to what the village wanted, we created a new play area.“We created it so that we can cater to families and to enhance the pub.

“It has a nest swing, climbing rope frame and a tower with a slide and the managers have plans to expand in the future.”
