The Angel in Watlington shortlisted in final three of Norfolk’s National Pub and Bar Awards nominees
A village venue has been shortlisted among the final three Norfolk nominees in the National Pub and Bar Awards.
The Angel in Watlington will find out the final results at an awards ceremony hosted in London in June, with staff incredibly excited.
Meanwhile, Richard Crouch, the pub’s chef owner, has made the final three of the Craft Guild of Chefs’ Pub Restaurant Chef Award. He will also learn whether he wins next month.
The Angel has undergone a complete internal and external refurbishment recently, and serves a wide selection of wines, spirits, cask ales and lagers from both West Norfolk and further afield.
It is two AA rosette-rated based on “an array of locally sourced and home-made delights”, and also offers takeaway breakfast rolls and sandwiches from a trailer.
“It’s brilliant to have been nominated for these awards as it is testament to the hard work the whole team puts in to make The Angel a standout venue with something for everyone and really a place for our customers to wine, dine or simply just spend their time,” Emily Phipps, who runs The Angel, said.
“We couldn’t have achieved any of this without our amazing local suppliers as without their support and the standard of their produce we wouldn’t be able to produce the dishes we do.
“As a team we are so proud of this achievement and the recognition it has brought to the pub and the local area.
“We look at these awards as the continuation of our journey to continue to develop and evolve our skills, the menu, the pub, and the converted horsebox to allow us to be able to bring The Angel and the whole experience to you too.”
