Mother speaks glowingly on Pumpkin Party at Gaywood

A special Halloween-themed event took place for babies at Gaywood Community Centre on Saturday.

Organised by Baby Sensory West Norfolk, who run weekly classes for mothers, the Pumpkin Party included lights, bouncy pumpkins and other Halloween items for babies to play with.

Katie Ross, who attended with her seven-month-old baby, said: “It’s getting out and talking to other mums. It’s a good experience for my little boy who was born on the first day of lockdown, so that experience with other babies is important.

"It was amazing and well-planned, a nice start to the Halloween celebrations."

The weekly classes typically last around 45 minutes as a suitable length of time so that the babies do not become too tired from a sensory overload.

Baby sensory classes run in Downham, Wisbech and the Lynn area during term-time.

The annual party is for babies aged between birth and 13 months.
