Pupils at West Norfolk secondary school raise £500 for Jeans for Genes Day

Students at St Clement's High School in Terrington St Clement have raised £503 for charity by dressing down for a day.

This week, pupils have been learning about genetic disorders, and during the week, the head boy and head girl, along with their deputies, have delivered assemblies on the impact such disorders can have on people's lives.

With today marking the national 'Jeans for Genes Day' – the annual fundraising event for Genetic Disorders UK – students paid £1 to swap their usual school trousers for denim, and to support the charity.

Headteacher Nigel Willingham said: "The students have taken a great interest in this issue, asking very insightful questions.

"This year we have raised £503, it's a charity close to all our hearts because of the impact on so many children."
