Memory Lane Schooldays: Looking back at King’s Lynn Primary School’s cooking extravaganza from 2011

In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature, we take a look back at a primary school’s cooking extravaganza from 2011…

Year 6 children from Gaywood Community Primary School were treated to a morning of top-class cookery with award-winning chef Galton Blackiston in October 2011.

Mr Blackiston, owner and head chef at Morston Hall, near Blakeney, attended the school to take a cookery workshop with pupils and their teacher Gillian Brewer.

The pupils took part in creating a three-course meal with fresh ingredients and a focus on healthy eating, making everything from scratch and at the end of the lesson getting to taste their efforts.
