Memory lane: Looking back at Sporle school trip from 1998

In our weekly memory lane feature, we take a look back at one class’s visit to the Norfolk Broads…

These Class Three children at Sporle First School were featured in the Lynn News in June 1998 and are pictured just before setting off on a three-day visit to the Norfolk Broads.

Staying at the How Hill Trust, the seven and eight-year-olds enjoyed boat trips, a water nature trail and pond dipping; they also met an expert on reeds and Broadland traditions, Eric the Marsh Man.

Teacher Mrs Janet Green said: “The children adored the boat trips and staying in a beautiful old house. Many of them were away from home on their own for the first time.”
