Pupils at Howard Junior School in Gaywood learnt about the food production cycle during a Farm to Fork visit to the Tesco supermarket, just a few hundred yards away from their school, in March 2014.

The 32 children from class 3N heard about everything from the origins of food to food miles, storage, distribution and healthy eating.

Talking about the project, Tesco UK managing director Chris Bush said: “We know parents are concerned that children don’t always understand how food is made and where it comes from, which is important to developing a strong positive lifelong relationship with food.”
