QEH King's Lynn invites the public to name the new baby bereavement suite
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn is inviting the local community to decide the
name of its new Maternity Bereavement Suite, which is due to open later this year.
The Maternity Bereavement Suite will provide a dedicated facility for bereaved parents who sadly
lose their babies during pregnancy or shortly after birth.
The quiet and private space will enable parents going through this unimaginable time to create precious memories with their baby, in a
safe and comfortable environment separate from the clinical setting.
Both Maternity Service users and staff were invited to give suggestions for the name of the suite.
These suggestions were all discussed yesterday at a meeting with the QEH Maternity Voice
Partnership (MVP) and they have been shortlisted down to four; the public are now invited to vote.
The names are:
The Butterfly Suite
The Lavender Suite
The Meadow Suite
The Star Suite
Votes can be made at here, with voting closing on Friday 19
February 2021.
The appeal for the suite was launched in early 2020 and became Lynn News’s Charity of the Year.
With thanks to a number of donations from the local community, and the Trust’s own charity, the
project received the go-ahead in November 2020 and it is hoped that the facility will open later this
year.
However, further funds are needed to furnish the facility and to make it as homely and welcoming
as possible. If you can donate to the appeal, please visit
