Engineer Chris Carolan among group complete Norfolk coastal trek for Nelson’s Journey

An engineer is among a group hoping to complete a huge trek across Norfolk tomorrow.

Chris Carolan, Matt Hubbard, Sam Carolan, Liam Carolan and Steve Gold are in the midst of an attempt to journey around the entire county coastline in just four days.

The trek began at Sutton Bridge on the Lincolnshire/Norfolk border on Wednesday, and will conclude at the Potters Holiday Resort at the Norfolk/Suffolk border tomorrow (Saturday).

The four individual legs of the trek are all in excess of 27 miles long, totalling more than 112 miles by completion on day four.

The team members, including leader Chris, an engineer, were looking forward to the challenge - but were “naturally expecting some tender feet along the way”.

They are raising funds for the Nelson’s Journey charity.

“This is a local charity, very close to our hearts, that we know from recent experience makes a massive difference to young lives in this area,” the group said in a statement.

So far, more than £2,200 has been raised - exceeding an original £2,000 target.
