Rail passengers in West Norfolk have been warned of potential disruption to their journeys next week because of planned engineering works.

Great Northern, the company which operates most passenger services between the borough and London, has announced that the 11.14pm train from Kings Cross to Lynn, will not run from next Tuesday, April 6, to Friday, April 10.

However, the earlier 10.24pm service, which normally terminates at Ely, will run through to Lynn.

Services on the line are expected to run as normal over the Easter weekend, although managers have warned that trains may be busier than usual because of engineering works elsewhere on the network.

Buses will be replacing trains on the line between Ely and Peterborough on Sunday.

The warning comes after train services were disrupted earlier this week due to overhead wire problems.

Passengers reported delays of up to two hours as buses replaced scheduled trains.
