LEARN MOREWest Norfolk's rail line has re-opened following a car fire closed the tracks earlier today.
Train operator Great Northern says journeys between Lynn and Ely are subject to delays of up to 30 minutes following the incident in Fairfield Road, Downham.
Emergency crews were called to the area shortly before 12.30pm after a car caught fire close to a level crossing.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke billowing onto the tracks from the blaze, which was said to only be around 30 feet from the crossing.
Great Northern, the main operator of train services linking West Norfolk with Cambridge and London, said it had requested replacement bus services shortly before the line re-opened, but could not say when they would be running.
