Railway services in King’s Lynn affected after person hit by train between Cambridge and Royston
Rail services have been cancelled across the region after a person was hit by a train this afternoon.
The Great Northern rail operator has confirmed that someone was struck between Royston and Cambridge, with all lines blocked between these stations while emergency services deal with the incident.
This has led to various trains scheduled to travel between Lynn, Downham and Watlington being cancelled.
Services planned for 5.10pm and 5.40pm have been made unavailable, although later journeys look to be unaffected.
Services which usually run between Lynn and London King’s Cross will currently only run between Lynn and Cambridge.
People travelling between Lynn, Ely and Cambridge have been urged to use Greater Anglia services this evening, and have been told their tickets will be accepted.
A Great Northern spokesperson said: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Royston and Cambridge.”
