Raising money ... and all that jazz
The Boughton Jazz Picnic has raised £500 for Médecins Sans Frontières and £250 for both Help for Heroes and East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
The jazz picnic was held at Rectory House, in Boughton, on Saturday.
Organiser Paul Coulten said: “It was very successful, there was around 250 people who came along.
“This was up on previous years, I have been doing these for 10 or 11 years now. It was wonderful to make a donation to the three worthy bodies. We have never donated to Médecins Sans Frontières before but it was the least we could do for all the amazing work they do. This goes for our other two charities as well. We sold out of ale, beer, cordial and Pimms. That is what happens when it is a wonderful day. The weather was brilliant.
“Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and I have received emails from people saying thank you and saying they had a lovely time. It was a great day overall and we are already looking forward to next year.”
