Police called to Downham Market after public reported seeing man carrying knife

A man was reportedly spotted with a knife in town last night - but police could not find the suspect.

Police were called to Railway Road in Downham following a report that a man had been seen carrying a weapon at 8.15pm.

Members of the public posted on social media saying they had seen a man carrying a knife.

However, a Norfolk Police spokesperson said that no threats were made and nobody was injured.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area. No suspect was identified and no knife was found.
