Residents left without use of showers and toilets in Fakenham as burst main at water tower flooded road
A burst water main left many across a town without the use of their toilets and showers over the weekend.
Residents in Fakenham were affected by low water pressure due to a burst main at the town’s water tower, with some saying they had no access to the utilities at all.
The incident was first reported on Saturday and was not fixed until Sunday afternoon.
As well as having reduced access to water, those living on Tower Court battled a flooded road, and water appeared to have risen past the pavements.
A spokesperson for Anglian Water said: “Some customers in Fakenham may have experienced low water pressure on Saturday evening (12 October).
“This was caused by a burst water main in the area, which our engineers fixed on Sunday.
“We thank customers for their patience while we got things back to normal."
