The court heard that Dono had grabbed the victim by the throat and punched him.

The offence left the victim feeling “shocked, scared and annoyed”.

In mitigation, Alison Muir said that Dono was “very remorseful” for the offence and that himself and the victim were good friends.

The assault left the victim with bruises around his eye socket.

“He has lost a very good friend,” said Ms Muir.

Dono was handed an 18-month community order, which requires him tocomplete 100 hours of unpaid work and 30 rehabilitation activity days.

He will also pay £100 in compensation to the victim and was given a 12 month restaining order, meaning he cannot get in touch with the victim.
