Pets at Home chain which has an outlet in King's Lynn raises record amount for its Support Adoption For Pets appeal

Customers of a retail chain with an outlet in Lynn have helped raise a record-breaking amount of money for pets spending Christmas in a rescue centre.

Since its fundraiser launched in November, Pets at Home customers raised £1.87 million, to help more than 3.5 million homeless pets across the UK as part of its Support Adoption For Pets Santa Paws appeal.

Throughout the appeal, customers were given the opportunity to donate 50p to a pet less fortunate than theirs.

The Support Adoption For Pets charity was established by Pets at Home in 2006. Every year it helps more than 1,000 rehoming centres and pet rescue organisations through grant funding and support. A total of 344 rescue centres will benefit from this latest appeal.

Support Adoption For Pets fundraising manager, Amy Wilson said: “This year we set an ambitious target to feed the highest number of homeless pets since the appeal began in 2013. We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers.

“These much-needed funds will go to support the vital work of local charities keeping abandoned pets healthy and safe until they find a permanent home.”
