Organisers of an award-winning charity cycling event are gearing up for what they hope will be their best yet as they appeal for riders to take part.
This year’s Cycle Together Sandringham, which starts and finishes in the grounds of the Park House Hotel, will take place on Sunday, June 14.
And supporters of the hotel, which offers respite breaks for disabled people and their carers, have urged cycling enthusiasts to take part.
Park House fundraiser Phil Davies, who is one of the organisers, said: “I’m really proud to be part of Cycle Together as it’s such a fantastic event whatever your cycling ability.
“All the money raised goes directly to Park House – so get your bike out, sign up today and let’s make this year the best ever.”
Now in its third year, Cycle Together has already raised more than £36,000 for the work of the hotel, which is run by Leonard Cheshire Disability.
Around 500 riders took part in each of the first two years of the event and officials are hoping many more will roll off the start line this time around.
As in 2014, participants will have the choice of completing routes over 10, 20, 50 or 100 miles.
The longer routes will also take riders through the grounds of Viscount Coke’s Holkham Hall, which is also one of the refreshment stop points.
Viscount Coke plans to take part in the event once again and said: “It’s a super way to enjoy the Norfolk countryside.
“The routes are perfect for anyone, so whatever your age or ability why not sign up today? It’s a great day out for all the family, and raises funds for a very worthwhile cause.”
Advance entry fees vary from £10 to £25 depending on the distance you choose. Registration on the day costs between £15 and £30.
