South West Norfolk MP Terry Jermy discusses energy bills with Downham Market businesses

Rising energy bills were on the agenda as Terry Jermy spoke to business owners last week.

The South West Norfolk MP was out and about in the constituency on Friday, visiting various companies and community projects.

He made a stop at Downham Home and Garden, meeting with father and son duo Marcus and Tim Glover.

They discussed the significant rise in energy costs experienced by the business over the past 12 months and the impact it was having on the firm.

Mr Jermy said: "I made clear during the election campaign that I wanted to prioritise support for local businesses here in South West Norfolk.

“It was great to meet with Tim and Marcus and tour their site in Downham Market. They're doing what they can to diversify their income and my team will be working with them to see if there's any other forms of support and grants to help them grow and develop.”

While in Downham, Mr Jermy also took the opportunity to visit the Swan Youth Project on Paradise Road, meeting with the team and young people attending their Friday evening session.

He earlier visited Marshland St James to meet with parish councillors to discuss local issues and inspect the current play area in the village, which councillors are aiming to upgrade while incorporating disable-friendly equipment.
