On social media, the company said: “Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

Officials from UK Power Networks are on the scene with police and the power is expected to be back on by 2.30pm - 3.30pm.

A diversion route through Swaffham has been put in place while the road remains closed.
