Planned road closures in Lynn’s town centre for the day of next month’s Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) have been announced.
The 10 kilometre race takes place on Sunday, May 3, and organisers have revealed how traffic will be diverted away from the course on the day.
The Tuesday Market Place, where the race starts and finishes, will be closed between 8am and 2pm on race day.
Roads including King Street, Queen Street, Purfleet Street, the Saturday Market Place, Church Street, South Quay, Boal Quay, Boal Street and Bridge Street will be shut from 9.30am until 12.45pm.
Further closures will then be in place from 10.15am affecting London Road, St James Street, Tower Street, Broad Street, New Conduit Street, Chapel Street and parts of Blackfriars Street and Norfolk Street, until 12.45pm.
And Wisbech Road will be one way only for traffic leaving the town between 10.15am and 12.45pm.
Organisers say limited parking may be available to some residents who live in the closure areas if it is “absolutely required.”
People can apply for a permit by emailing email@example.com giving their name, address, car registration number and the reason for their request.
Up to 2,000 runners are expected to take part in the race, which is now in its 10th year.
