B1122 Methwold Road between Whittington and Brookville to close for surface works
A road will be closed for three days this month as work to improve its surface is carried out.
Work is due to start tomorrow (Wednesday) to surface dress a section of the B1112 Methwold Road between Link Road, Whittington and Gordon Fuller Close in Brookville.
It will involve surface dressing, line painting, and cat’s eyes (road studs) being renewed. Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
To allow the work to be carried out safely, Norfolk County Council says it will be necessary to close the road to through traffic on the dates listed below:
• May 7: Road stud removal - evening/overnight works 7pm-6am
• May 12: Main surface dressing - evening/overnight works 7pm-6am
• May 20: Lining/road stud replacement - evening/overnight works 7pm-6am
“A fully signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration of the works,” a council spokesperson said.
“The county council thanks people for their patience while this essential road maintenance work is carried out.”
The work is expected to cost approximately £64,000 and will be carried out by the county council’s infrastructure department and its contractors, Tarmac and Keir Highway Services.
